Current projects include whole genome sequencing of 10,000 Indian patients with rare diseases, development of gene therapy for muscular dystrophy, and establishment of a biobank for research purposes.
We collaborate with international institutions including Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and the Wellcome Sanger Institute on multiple research initiatives.
The Department of Neurosciences conducts pioneering research in stroke rehabilitation, epilepsy mechanisms, and neurodegenerative disorders. Our neuroimaging facility with 3T MRI and PET-CT enables cutting-edge brain mapping studies.
Recent breakthroughs include development of a novel biomarker for early Alzheimer's detection and a non-invasive brain stimulation technique for Parkinson's disease management.
Our Institute serves as a WHO collaborating centre for research on antimicrobial resistance and tropical diseases. We conduct clinical trials for new vaccines and therapeutics for diseases endemic to South Asia.
